Organ-stealing government witch doctor
also in our no atn news wasteland I have seen many posts like “reminder this is a tragedy you can’t cancel the author if your ship doesn’t go canon” and others like “I’m going to die if the ship doesn’t go canon” and still others like “I think it’s all leading up to their demise” okay but my attitude is this. First of all if they die together it’s canon and I’m counting that as their marriage. secondly come ON you think they won’t kiss?? everyone else has! and I mean everyone. She made jarpedon canon. Thirdly come ON you think Gideon is never going to speak to harrow again??? Ortus who died in chapter 2 of book 1 spoke to harrow again. Fourthly COME ON you think they’re not running away together????? lesbians are fucking constantly running away together in her stories have you read the rest of them she believes in love. and bloodspray. My point is not that I think we’re going to get an unambiguously happy ending my point is if you add a million events per book (constant temptation for tazmuir) statistically nearly everything that could happen is likely to happen meaning that among other things gideon and harrow’s mouths Will be meeting and you can quote me on that when atn comes out
I love a tragedy I love angst I love to feel shrimp emotions never before felt by a human but my guess is there’s just too much book per book for it to be a straightforward tragedy
im so enamored with stories that portray love as something soft and kind because i do think that love at its core is an act of kindness. its part of the reason i prefer the idea of growing into love instead of falling in love because when i think of growing into love i think of a garden, like love is something to cultivate, to tend to daily, a steady progression of growth with some setbacks, a few dying leaves here and there, having to move to a bigger pot and a spot with more sunshine, but it’s still something that at the end of the month, or a year, or a decade, or a lifetime you can look at and see the product of your dedication, see exactly what it means to pour your heart into something. i just! love reading about kind love!

yhea because the squid people that inherit the earth will know when Christ was born
They 👏 Will 👏 Be 👏 Catholic
Given the “Eat fish on Friday” kick that some Catholics still hold to, I wouldn’t put money on THAT.
I mean, humans eat plenty of other mammal species, so I’m sure the squid people will be fine with eating different species of marine creatures.
All the humanoid figures in the building you’re in suddenly come to life and are trying their hardest to kill you, (this means dolls, mannequins, sculptures, puppets etc but they have to be human-ish) How Screwed Are You?
I’m chilling. (there are none that i can think of)
slightly unnerved
Oh no (I could fight them off.)
OH NO! (can’t fight them off)
already dead (I live in a museum/large fashion store)

Answer💀 Fav Ht9 quote? - I know it’s a cliche answer, but it’s got to be that Augustine quote to Mercy when they think they’ve killed Jod. It’s just so poignant and yet so deranged.
“Bury me next to you in that unmarked grave, Joy. We knew that was the only hope we ever had–that we would live to see it through … and pray for our own cessation. Oh, we’ll still hate each other, my dear, we have hated each other too long and too passionately to stop … but my bones will rest easy next to your bones.”
Mercy and Augustine are terrible people but I have such a thing for that trope of like, an older generation (than the protagonist(s)) who have done terrible things and know they are irrevocably doomed/tainted but hope that there will be salvation for others, if not themselves.
👯 Which twin is worse and why?
Ooh, a tough one, because I’ve got a suspicion that Corona will turn out to be more awful somehow, but like, I just really don’t like Ianthe. Like, I know loads of people enjoy her, but she just never clicked for me for some reason.
🔬 Who is your fav lyctor and why?
If we can include all lyctors, living and (presumably) dead, then I’ve gotta go with Cassiopeia. I just love the Sixth and Cassiopeia just seems like such a complicated character. On one hand, she’s the one who inspired the Sixth’s philosophy of questioning authority when it is unjust, and may possibly be involved in founding BoE (at least that’s my theory), but she also did all that highly unethical experimentation with stuffing multiple souls into one body (where did those souls even come from? That scene in GtN seems to imply they were taking living people and making soul melanges from them which is like… murder?) So yeah, a complicated person.
If it has to be living lyctors, then I’m going with Mercymorn. I just love how unlovable she is, her hypercompetence mixed with incessant, insistent complaining about literally every thing. I think that if I were a 10,000 year old wizard who ate the soul of the person I loved most and had spent the past myriad on a space station in the middle of nowhere filled with people who used to be my best friends but now hate me, I think I would also act exactly like she does, tbh.
Oh, and I also love Cytherea too. Obviously she did many terrible things, but, like, I get it. She can have a little murderous rampage, as a treat.
🔮 Which one of Harrows AU’s do you find the most compelling?
Not sure… I didn’t hate the AU parts of HtN, but I also wasn’t especially gripped by them either. I guess just the original AU, the one where Harrow goes to Canaan house with Ortus. Before it started going off the rails, it gave a lot of context to the early goings on of GtN, which was interesting. Plus I liked seeing more of Ortus and seeing Harrow and Abigail interact.
🥀 If you could have chosen one character to survive Canan House, who would it be?
I mean, the stipulation that it be just one is incredibly cruel, given that most people died in pairs. An obvious answer is Gideon, but that would change far too much of everything else. I’m probably going to be controversial and say Naberius, not for any great love of him as a character, but because just don’t care for Ianthe that much and don’t want her to be a lyctor. Or at least, if she’s going to do it, she shouldn’t get to escape the crushing moral weight of it all, and should have to pick Corona.
🤹Which meme would you want to see make it into At9?
Faced with this question, all my knowledge about current memes has just completely fled, head empty, no memes. All I can think of is horse plinko but I don’t really like horse plinko all that much, as thematically appropriate as it would be.
Hmmm.. wait, I think do you love the colour of the sky would be a good one. I can see that being worked into the dialogue in a semi-subtle way, maybe someone reflects on it when they return to the First or something.
Another quiz for if you were a fictional character how would your fandom treat you (if you think your life is too boring to have a fandom just think of yourself as living the domestic!au of some sci-fi or fantasy)

sometimes dnd archetypes annoy me because like. at the core of a paladin oath it’s being so dedicated to something it gives you superpowers
they’re not christian camp counselors or cops they’re fucking autistic
I know this is a meme but Paladins are genuinely one of the most flavour-rich classes in the game.
An oath is a fascinating cornerstone of characterisation simply because a person, for whatever reason, has been driven to condense their permanent identity into a few words. It’s this immovable pillar of their character magically anchored to the core of their being, and what’s more? It’s by choice.
You don’t fall into a Paladin oath the way you might with a Warlock pact & nowhere does it say an oath’s power has to be granted by another entity.
Every character has a core, but Paladins chose theirs. Taking an oath is looking at one thing, anything and going this. this is worth it. I will take this into myself and swear never to stray from it and it will inform everything I have been and everything I am now and everything I will become in the future.
Imagine loyalty so extreme it produces its own divinity and tell me that isn’t worthy of a story.

“jesse pinkman takes a girl by the hand and leads her to his bedroom but instead of having sex they just play Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing” sounds like a tumblr meme made by someone who never saw breaking bad. but he really did that
“jesse pinkman tells walter white he can’t cook meth that day becuase he’s going to the georgia o'keefe museum” DEFINITELY sounds like a shitpost by someone who hasn’t seen breaking bad and yet it really truly happened
